Hunt for driver after boy, 12, killed by BMW

Police are investigating the death of a 12-year-old boy who was struck and killed by a BMW in Telford, Shropshire. The incident occurred on Wednesday afternoon on Holyhead Road, near the Wrekin Retail Park. The driver of the BMW, which had been involved in a collision with another vehicle prior to the fatal incident, fled the scene on foot. Emergency services were called to the scene at approximately 4:30pm, but the boy was pronounced dead at the scene. Police have launched an appeal for witnesses and information, and are urging the driver of the BMW to come forward. Sergeant David Grundy of the West Mercia Police said, "This is a tragic incident in which a young boy has lost his life and our thoughts are with his family at this devastating time. We are appealing for any witnesses who may have seen the collision to come forward and speak to us. We are also urging the driver of the BMW to do the right thing and contact us." Police are also asking for any dashcam or CCTV footage that may show the collision to be provided to them.
