The fire broke out at a recycling plant on the site, sending a huge plume of smoke into the sky. Leicestershire Fire and Rescue Service (LFRS) was called to the scene at about 11:40 BST on Wednesday. At its height, eight fire engines and an aerial ladder platform were tackling the blaze. The LFRS said the fire was spreading rapidly and warned residents to keep their windows and doors closed.
